Florida Changed the SMMC Long-Term Care “Waitlist” and Screening Process
Starting July 1, 2026, Florida law calls the SMMC LTC waitlist a pre-enrollment list and changes parts of ADRC screening and rescreening.
The short version: The name change does not mean everyone on the list is enrolled. People should keep contact information current, report significant changes, and save every screening and rank notice.

Older adults and adults with disabilities seeking Florida Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care, plus their caregivers and authorized representatives.
What changed
- Florida law replaces “waitlist” with “pre-enrollment list” in this program.
- The law changes parts of the Aging and Disability Resource Center assessment, placement, release, and annual-rescreening process.
- It also expands allowable Home Care for the Elderly special-subsidy uses to include food and nutritional supplements and changes some professional-guardian oversight provisions.
