What happens next
SSA checks nonmedical requirements and sends the medical claim for disability review. The agency may contact the applicant for missing information, exams, or an SSI interview.
If they say “we’ll put you on the list”
Call SSA with the confirmation number. If the claim was denied within the last 60 days, use the appeal route rather than filing a new initial application.
