How to Find Out Where Someone Was Taken After a Baker Act

Call the law-enforcement agency or ambulance service that transported the person and ask for the destination. In Brevard, the main designated receiving systems are Circles of Care in Melbourne and Palm Point in Titusville.
What to have in front of you
- The notice, bill, decision, or discharge paperwork connected to the problem
- The person’s full name, date of birth, address, insurance information, and identification
- A short timeline with dates, names, phone calls, and what changed
- Copies of medical, school, financial, or care records that directly support the request
What to say when someone answers
“This is not an emergency. I am trying to identify the receiving facility where a family member was transported for an involuntary examination. What destination was recorded?”
Small but useful: Write down the person’s name, the date, the exact next step, and when you should call again.
Do this in order

What happens next
A transporting agency can usually identify the destination from its call record. A facility may refuse to confirm an adult’s presence unless the law or a signed authorization permits it.
