How to Schedule a Florida Medicaid Transportation Ride
Most recipients book through their Medicaid health plan; the appointment details and mobility needs should be ready before calling.

Call the transportation number on the Medicaid health-plan card and request non-emergency transportation to a Medicaid-covered service. Florida Medicaid covers eligible recipients who have no other transportation; an escort or personal care attendant may be covered when required.
What to have in front of you
- Medicaid ID and health-plan card
- Appointment date, time, address, provider phone, and type of service
- Pickup address and return-trip estimate
- Wheelchair, walker, stretcher, oxygen, escort, or communication needs
- Prior ride confirmation or complaint numbers
What to say when someone answers
“I need non-emergency transportation to a Medicaid-covered appointment on [date]. Please confirm pickup window, mobility accommodations, escort approval, return-trip process, and confirmation number.”
Small but useful: Write down the person’s name, the date, the exact next step, and when you should call again.

What happens next

If they say “we’ll put you on the list”
Call the ride-assistance line immediately if the vehicle is late. Ask the plan to protect the appointment and file a transportation complaint when service fails.
