Official VA state and territory releases • Latest supplied data: March 31, 2026

Claims are still climbing.

These are cumulative claims received since the PACT Act was signed August 10, 2022. They are not the number of individual veterans, approvals, or payments.

Share of U.S. claims9.21%Florida has 7.83% of projected U.S. veterans
What that last comparison means: Florida’s share of PACT-related claims is larger than its share of the projected veteran population. The releases do not tell us why, and this does not measure eligibility, approval rates, or health outcomes.

Why only one line? “Total PACT Act Related Claims Received” remains comparable across the supplied releases. Several enrollment fields contain abrupt layout or definition changes, so Sunshine does not turn them into a misleading trend.

A claim count is not an approval count.

It counts claims, not people. One veteran or survivor may be associated with more than one claimed condition.

It is cumulative. Every release covers the period beginning August 10, 2022, so the line should generally rise.

It does not show outcomes. These state tables do not tell us how many Florida claims were granted, denied, pending, or paid.

It does not prove a cause. The change may reflect outreach, eligibility expansions, filing behavior, processing, or other factors not identified in this dataset.

Data sources and limitations

Data used: Nine uploaded VA PACT Act Dashboard state and territory supplements. The claims snapshots end March 15, April 12, May 10, June 7, July 5, August 9, and September 6, 2025; December 31, 2025; and March 31, 2026.

The chart uses the field Total PACT Act Related Claims Received. VA labels these as cumulative totals beginning August 10, 2022. Release dates and measurement dates are not always the same.

Projected veteran population estimates changed between releases, so the latest population share is shown only as context. Sunshine does not infer approval rates, prevalence, or causation from these data.
